Start Your Career Today in Skilled Trades
Are you considering a career in construction? The Southeast Michigan Construction Academy is a great place to start. Our instructors are masters in their crafts who will teach you the skills necessary to get a job and thrive in the workplace.
Hands-on Learning
SEMCA places a strong focus on face-to-face classroom instruction with professionals who spent years working in the industry. The principles learned in the classroom are then practiced through hands-on exercises in our shop area. Students will learn side-by-side with other emerging professionals just like themselves who are starting in the construction industry.
Learn While you Earn
In most college programs, students take four years of classes and then hope to get a job at the end. SEMCA’s training program is different. It is based on the idea that entry level students are working in the field during the day while going to school at night. Formalized training allows students to diversify their construction knowledge and skills in a way that can't be done effectively on the job.
SEMCA Was Created by Employers in Construction
While most trades schools are in the business of education, SEMCA was created over 30 years ago with a different purpose -- to recruit and train new workers for the construction industry. Our goal isn't to enroll the most students. Our goal is to train the most skilled workers to fill in-demand job openings.
